lyrics

reflection heats my face like fire from a barrel
i shoot super-short snippets of video
like sky through leaves, wind chimes
moire patterns in chain link fences

i'm always
never forgetting
to remember
to track tenses

i look out at the maine horizon
horizon arising the many lives of
ghost cold air, machine parts,
logging roads and rite-aid marts

pot smugglers, working stiffs
trailer trucks and marriage rifts
snow-crust hills, the evening star
dark houses trapped in tar
views like memories, woods like fences
friends' faces changing tenses

cold churches, and grange halls
the open ocean if you stand tall
echoing ponds and concave nights
hospital cranes and traffic lights
